A few days ago I posted a photo of an inca head from the museum. Here is a sculptural collage that I made after being inspired. It is paper, ink, photography, digital and it is 3d (comes off the wall in layers).

I was actually at the National Gallery Victoria for a symposium on Dali. The Dali exhibition was brilliant and I spent the whole day there. During a tea break I wandered into a small exhibition of incan sculpture and was in awe of what I saw.

i can believe it. i’d like the dali symposium too, i’m sure. there are some awesome mid and south american pottery and clay traditions that are really outstanding. i find that kind of work extremely inspiring and so full of ideas… ha, now that i think about it… some of your cut paper sculptures really bring dali’s work to life. those are really cool works, they stick in my skull.
