The Abbotsford Convent

Well I went again.  I saw a wonderful exhibition, one well worth taking a trip to see.  I particularly went to see Jakob Schmitt’s printmaking work as we work together at Arts Project Australia.

Jones and Schmitt are printmakers working respectively with linocuts and etchings. Their work contrasts the hard cold steel of industry with the soft earth of the natural world – each containing glimmers of the other while expressing the atmosphere felt when you catch the interaction of these two worlds.

It was a gorgeous sunny Autumn day, my friend and I saw the exhibition, walked the grounds and sat under the red umbrellas to dine at Lentil as Anything – what a great day.
