Teaching life drawing classes at Cambridge Studio Gallery on Wed nights.
This is a large charcoal work on paper that I made when studying fine art at university.
I was invited to teach life drawing on Wed nights on rotation with other instructors for small classes in a lovely intimate gallery setting at Cambridge Studio Gallery in Collingwood. I think the students are having a lot of fun drawing, using mixed media including torn paper, paint and ink etc. Sometimes their work is lovely, strong or quirky and sometimes not. It happens because many of the poses are only 5 minutes or so. I hope that they go home with something they are proud of, a technique that they will use again and or a plan to repeat something they learn’t at the next class.
Your drawing is superb. I attended life drawing class for a decade in Scotland (I was secretary of the art group running it hence my weekly commitment) and it is one of the things I’ve missed most since emigrating. A life drawing class is a wonderful resource.
I agree. I hope you get a chance to take it up again.
Me too.
Stunning work Anne. Sad I’m not in the area to attend the class.
Thanks Leonie that’s nice all the same.
Absolutely beautiful. Very inspiring to someone trying to find art again.
Thank you Sarah I hope so.
Love it!
