Collingwood on Christmas Eve and delicious breakfasts.

Had my son Darcy visit from Sydney for Christmas so we spent Christmas Eve looking around  Smith Street Collingwood, Fitzroy.  We did last minute shopping then had a souvlaki at Jimmy Grants in St. David Street Fitzroy.  Such a wonderful atmosphere up and down the street, lots of people around but no rushing, just chilling.  Bookshop was crazy full of people and we both bought a couple of last minute things.  I absolutely had to have Tokyo Precincts for my Japan liking husband.  Yep he liked it.

The beautifully presented hotcakes in the pic above are from our breakfast yesterday 29th Dec from a new East Ivanhoe Cafe called Ducasa (they use an odd font so I hope I have the name right).  Delicious food bought by all four other people however mine was a little ordinary.  Mine were crumpets (2) with honey and lemon and butter on the side.  They looked suspiciously  like the hotcakes above rather than crumpets with holes.  The honey was on the top one so the bottom crumpet had nothing and therefore was dry and I didn’t eat it.  Great coffee.  I would go there again but not for the crumpets.

Soooo very hot in Melbourne and pretty unpleasant for me as I am not at the beach.  Hope everyone has had a nice Christmas and is having a nice time.  Wish I was at the beach.
