Australia Day fun in the gardens.

Today is Australia Day.  I was assisting our woodworking club to sell some of their wares whilst other members were assisting children in assembling and building bird houses.  The tap tap tapping of hammers went all day long and the joy in the children’s faces was beautiful.  Here are a few photos for you to see.  It was very crowded and I am afraid I seem to have missed that in these photos.  There were actually lots of people from the parade that were walking around in star wars costumes and others in costumes from the countries that they originally came from e.g. Thai, Greek, Iranian, Egyptian etc.

I enjoy the images! Being from the mid-midwest of the U.S., I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of Australia Day. Then again, I don’t imagine you’ve heard of National Dairy Month..big here in the dairy state of Wisconsin. So much fun to learn other’s celebrations! Celebrations bring us all together — it looks like you had a good time!

Surely Australia Day would be bigger than National Dairy month. You are hilarious.
