Collage in my Backyard.
Collage in My Backyard.
I had two Summer workshops in collage with two gorgeous groups of women. They made some wonderful work and happily played with ink and acrylic paint and of course my vast collection of books. We started with very little instruction and just two cutouts selected to make something funny – big head little body type of thing – this was a break the ice kind of thing (see lady dog below).
Also below are two small and lovely still-life paintings from another workshop (a bit of Morandi happening there).
Collage with fish and humans.
The fish and the human bend and flex so easily as one.
Colouring Book Fundraiser success.
Thankyou for your support, encouragement, good wishes, generosity and concern for our fundraiser to get a standing wheelchair for Nathan.
We have raised enough money. Yay success. I have attached two images that you are welcome to print and use for colouring in. The four hybrid characters are mine from found image collage and the prawns are by Bryce Golder (he made and donated them from when he was in New York). Please note just for personal use not for reproduction or commercial use. Hope you enjoy them.
The kindest adult colouring book of all time – art fundraiser.
Our big fundraising event is a one time only event to be held on November 7th at the Alphington Community Centre on the Corner of Wingrove Street and Kelvin Road (Across from Alphington Station). 9.00am to 2.00pm
If you are in Melbourne please come along and help support a fundraiser to help 28year old Nathan to get a wheelchair that will enable him to stand up. We will have a sausage sizzle, a plant sale including indigenous plants, a lemon tree and lots of others including succulents grown by Nathan himself. We will have a children’s craft activity table with an accomplished artist teaching/assisting children and of course the very special ‘The Kindest Adult Colouring Book of All Time’. We have had preorders already as we have a limited edition of 100 only. The colouring in pages are donated by 23 artists to be used in this book. There are 40 pages in all with artists such as illustrators, tattoo artists, printmakers, photographers etc…
Colouring in on these pages can be meditative and at other times your colouring in will need to be more considered.
I have already sold 16 books in preorders ($30AUD) Please email me if you wish to lock in a book before Saturday.

The Sweet Life Tattoo Shop in High Street Thornbury were happy participants with three of their artists taking part. The cover photo has Maisen Hall’s lady on the front.
Run down closed up shops are disappearing in Melbourne but I got this old sweet thing today.
I liked the crab cutout and thought about leaving it in the fruit bowl atop the bananas but I’m pretty sure the family would not have appreciated it so I didn’t.
Art in a box collage workshop with Lynne.
Lynne Patatsos made this three dimensional image in our Art in a Box workshop last night. The box is approximately 3cm deep and layered as you can see above. Good job once again Lynne. I hope the four workshops we had in mixed media will keep you producing and keep you inspired for a long time to come.
