A pencil drawing and a charcoal drawing.
Jan is a painter of still-life and abstract acrylic paintings. I enjoyed drawing this image. I mistakenly picked up a blue pencil instead of a black one and just kept going. Sorry it is such a terrible quality photo. I do think I captured her and her lively and warm personality.
The charcoal nude drawing was made a couple of weeks ago. The model was eight and a half months pregnant. She was an amazing woman that was so full of energy. Sorry I didn’t get her name.
Art, Workshops, Christmas.
I had an enormous year of art and exhibitions this year.
I was invited to exhibit at Holy Trinity in East Melbourne as part of the Eastern Art Festival.
I exhibited with the Out of the Box Group of Artists at Cambridge Studio Gallery.
I had the Alphington Open Studios in November.
I also arranged a fundraiser for several of my art workshop regulars. It was their first time exhibiting so I let them pick the charity which of course made them work harder. I then encouraged them all to bring along 5 or 6 friends each to the opening. We almost had a sell out, plus a couple of commissions for future work. The charity was for the Tiwi Island Girls Football Team. They have to travel long distances to play so our efforts helped their travel fees.
I’m hoping for an exhibition with a couple of wonderful artist friends in 2018. A bit early to tell you much about that. I am keen for you to see my new website annewarrenart.com as it will have information about workshops and exhibitions which may be of interest. Please have a look and stay in touch.
Here are a few pics from this year. By the way I love the snow in December on this site even if it is really really hot here.
See below my Christmas Card for you. Merry Christmas. xx

Preparing for next weeks art exhibition ‘Now and Then’
Whenever I exhibit with the Out of the Box Artist group there is usually something extra, something collaborative or similar made by each of the artists. This year we all passed on to others in the group some hand painted or treated paper pieces. Below is my little patchwork country collage piece on board.
I have approximately 8 artworks in this exhibition.
Official Opening next Sunday 8th October, 2-4pm.
Mixed Media, still-life, drawing, painting and everything.
I really can’t settle one one particular medium because I just want it all. It is always best for me to stick to one for a little while before moving on to another. I am still doing my woodcarving but have had to slow it down a bit for a few upcoming exhibitions. The still life with biscuits is for a charity fundraiser and was the last thing I made.
Still life abstracted painting.
These are two small acrylic paintings on board. I am trying a couple of different techniques. Some abstract and some real.

Sleeping toolshed and some art.
The toolshed is my fathers. He is 92 years old and has been in a Nursing home for the past 4 months. I am allowed to go into the toolshed and use whatever I want. I have told my father (who is a Carpenter) that I am trying woodcarving. My latest thing from this shed is a stone for sharpening my chisels. I am not good at it and wish I could ask him to show me but I don’t want to worry him.
A little bit of art from the past – a collage and a drawing.
