Making an abstract assemblage from old work.
I painted a few small abstract artworks but kept remembering pieces of art sitting in folios. I started using resources that I have looked at and passed over so many times and finally they have been the perfect resources for a series of four artworks. Some works are 3D, some have ink, acrylic and or gouache paint. See more at my website http://www.annewarrenart.com or instagram annewarrenart.

Preparing for next weeks art exhibition ‘Now and Then’
Whenever I exhibit with the Out of the Box Artist group there is usually something extra, something collaborative or similar made by each of the artists. This year we all passed on to others in the group some hand painted or treated paper pieces. Below is my little patchwork country collage piece on board.
I have approximately 8 artworks in this exhibition.
Official Opening next Sunday 8th October, 2-4pm.
What can I say except they are all unrelated but all important to me.
Still absolutely loving the spoon making or wood carving however it may seem that I have not shifted much. Probably haven’t but I know the tools a little better. The collage is from an exhibition of totems that I did – an oldie that I thought you might enjoy seeing.
My niece Julia and a picture of a dog with the same hairstyle. Pretty cute I think.
I have put some of my wooden items in a gallery called Incube8er and will post some details about this shortly. I just set up and realised I didn’t take any photos.

If in Melbourne come along to my group exhibition Opening on Friday night 6.30pm at Beth Hulme Gallery see details below.
This image is one of a series of 9 collage/mixed media works on show along with one limited edition giclee print. The disparate cutouts I began selecting and assembling unknowingly led me to the creation of a series of joyful hybrid habitats for children including, space, dogs and insects.

Happy Christmas and Best Wishes
It has been a fun year of WordPress. Lots to read, interesting stories and as I am a visual person I love your pictures. I love your art, your design, your buildings, your gardens, your pets, your ideas and your encouragement. I have had lots of nice experiences and chats with you. Thankyou and have a lovely holiday break.
For all of you that are overseas I’d like you to know that Christmas day will be 35 degrees Celsius which is very hot. There is a total fire ban in force which means some BBQ restrictions. I think as it is my turn to do lunch this year it will be indoors with an air conditioner running. I’ll post some pics post Christmas and I would love to see yours as well.
Small collage assemblages are ephemeral and no longer exist.
I had a lot of fun making these little ephemeral collage characters. I cut selections of drapery, a sleeve, a pantaloon or similar from two different books and assembled them into unusual hybrid charcters. Although there are no heads (only one) or legs they are still suggestive of an interesting character.
I have these photos (above) that I took last night but I do not have the cutouts (well I have them but they are not pasted down) as I really like the idea that they are a one time only assemblage. It’s part of my play time.
