Really really reduced prices Artist Sale at Cambridge Studio Gallery Collingwood.

Workshops:  I am looking for two people that would like to take Wednesday Still-life Workshops in Acrylic with me.  As the classes are so small it would be easy for me to teach Collage/Mixed Media if you prefer.  We meet here in my home studio in Alphington (Victoria, Australia) at 9.30am to 12.30pm.No experience necessary, I will show you my techniques which will make painting fun and easy, you can then adapt to suit your own style.  You only need to love art to do these classes so don’t let your experience or lack of experience stop you from learning something new and sharing this experience with others.  If you are interested or know of anyone else that may be interested pass on my information please.  I would like to start this Wed 14th or the following one on 21st February.  I’ll put it on my Website as well.  www.annewarrenart.com.

Art exhibition nearing at Alphington Open Studios at the end of the month.

Hello Everyone,

Just want you to know that the Alphington Open Studios will be on again on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of November.   For more information go to the Facebook Site Alphington Open Studios or to the website http://www.alphingtonstudios.com.  You will see information and images from all of the exhibiting artists.  Below I have inserted a still life painted image and below that a mixed media drawing and painting.  Hope you like them.   Please note that I now have a new Website http://www.annewarrenart.com that I hope you will look up for more gallery pictures.

Alphington Park and some new happenings.

I just thought I would show you a gorgeous part of where I live.

Took Ninna my kelpie for first walk for 2017 to Alphington Park.  No soccer players, footballers or cricketers at this time of year so we have the whole oval plus much more space to throw and chase the ball.  So peaceful.  Room for more people and dogs of course but not 5000.   Looming next door is the old paper mill which is being developed into housing for up to 5000 people.  I have been told that there are no green spaces within the development which I find disappointing.  I hope I am wrong.  I am certainly not anti the development but just wish there was a little bit of green grass to walk pets and or sit on a bench in the sun.

Paintbrushes needed for Northern Territory.

This would be for Australia only as we have just three weeks to collect and deliver them.

Can you help out a remote community in the Northern Territory?
Paintbrushes old and new needed
Gurindji Project Paintbrushes.

The Gurindji people live in the remote Northern Territory town , called Kalkaringi, 800 kms south west of Darwin, nearest biggest town is Katherine 400 kms away.

A converted small power station was refurbished to become an Art Space from the proceeds of selling the book “From Little Things Big Things Grow” which is the story based on their Freedom Walk 50 years ago this August. Penny Smith an Art teacher from Queensland went to help set the Art Space up five years ago and is still there. A call has gone out for paintbrushes, new or used. My friend Galia will be travelling there on 5th August to deliver them.
This is a very small community of 600 people with very few facilities/materials and or things to do. Well done Penny Smith you are amazing.
Delivery of Brushes
I am happy to receive them here in Alphington (annewarrenart@gmail.com) for address. Another drop off point is Cambridge Studio Gallery in Cambridge Street Collingwood.  You can look their Gallery hours up and deliver there if it suits better.
Timeline: Just three weeks. Must pass them on by Monday 25th July.
Thankyou and happy hunting – Anne Warren

Taking bookings for Art Workshops in Melbourne.

Think about taking an art class with me on Feb 2nd or Feb 4th.

My next Still-Life Painting Workshop is on Tuesday February 2nd.  It is a very small class of only 3 people so you get lots of attention and information.  There is a materials list that I would provide for this class.  I have vacancies for the evening class Feb 2nd 6.00 – 9.00pm.

My next Group Collage Workshop is on February 4th 9.30-12.30pm and a later one at 6.00-9.00pm.  I still have some places available in both classes.  The classes will be for beginners, artists interested trying a different approach, those that have taken  a class before that are wanting more direction to consolidate and or make new artwork.  Email me warrener_@hotmail.com.

Art Workshops in Melbourne

Just wanted to alert you to some new group workshops in still-life painting and in collage/mixed media.

In the past I offered one on one classes only however I am now able to offer  small group workshops over 3 hours at a reduced price.  In three hours we can cover a lot more and in the middle of it all we can have a break for coffee tea and biscuits.  Having other people alongside you is also a benefit for inspiration.

I am trying to make it simple and memorable:

Still-Life Painting in Acrylic the first Tuesday in every month

Collage/Mixed Media on the first Thursday in every month

Our lovely, friendly, Alphington Garden Fundraiser is nearing.

We are fundraising for a young man that wants a wheelchair that will assist him to stand.

They exist and they are pretty expensive so the community are pitching in to help.

We have trees, shrubs, seeds, succulents and more.

We have a sausage sizzle

We have The Kindest Adult Colouring Book of All Time – a compilation of artworks by 23 artists including, graphic, tattooist, printmaker, illustrator, photographer, collage, drawing, ceramics, cartoonist and more.

4x colourThis is a mock up of a few details I have put together to show you some of the fun artworks that will make up the colouring book.  It has been such a fun thing to do.  I have discovered many of our artists will be buying books which is great but in another way it is difficult to take their money as they have been especially generous with their talent and time.  I value their commitment to their craft and their generosity.  Artists are the best, so please support them so that they may continue to make unique artwork for us to enjoy.

This is my elderly neighbour’s wonderful office space and yes she is an artist and an art collector.

maureens 1What a lovely space this is.  My nieghbour was kind enough to allow me to photograph her home which is very much a gallery/studio in one.

Happy International Women’s Day.
I think about things sometimes and wonder how it is that some people think women and men are not equal.

Melbourne pictures of my house and my new kitchen design and the city.

favourite from entrance My kitchen designer/maker did a photo shoot of my kitchen so I am sharing these gorgeous photos with you.  I am loving my new kitchen.  If you look closely you will see a tiny peek of my artwork on the wall of the lounge room.  Just thought I would let you know that I live approximately 9 kilometres from the city.  Many of the houses in my suburb are quite similar weatherboard (wood) homes from around the 1930’s and 1940’s.  Many people try to restore to the period but I have chosen to go more contemporary.  It is quite a humble house and so I didn’t destroy any important history.
