A Christmassy surreal and funny image.
The beautiful little reindeer child is image Number 6 of 12 Images I am making for my Grandson’s first 12 months.
Just added a little still life I made a year ago (sold).
Oh and it’s going to be 35 degrees Celsius on Christmas day and yes we will still be having hot lunches and dinners anyway because of tradition that has become part of our Australian culture. But don’t worry about us as I’m sure there will also be ice and cold drinks and icecream and beer and wine etc. etc. …
He was always going to be a bee in Spring.
My baby grandson’s third of twelve digital collages. He was always going to be a bee this month of September which is Spring in Melbourne. He has been a superhero, an olympic swimmer and now a bee. Digital imaging, photography, collage and lots of love.
Antipodean Art Exhibition in Carlton.
You are invited to attend an Art Exhibition on Tuesday Night August 16th at Steps Gallery in Carlton (near Trades Hall). See details below for more information and please note it is only on for 8 days. I have three limited edition images that I will be showing which will be available framed or unframed, plus a very special collaboration with Artist /Woodcarver Nikos Siouzos of a woman in a traditional Greek Costume and the man in a Pontian Greek Costume. If you are in Melbourne please drop in and have a look. I have met some very interesting artists and seen some wonderful work that I think you will enjoy in this exhibition.
The exhibition is supported by The Greek-Australian Cultural League of Melbourne.
Rio Olympics baby swimmer.
This is month 2 of Mason’s life. So far he has been a flying superhero and now he is an Olympic Swimmer. 10 more months (one per month) of silly, surreal images to create. Photographs and digital work assembled on photoshop.
Silly surreal digital baby image.
My beautiful Grandson Mason is 14 days old today. I am including him in some of my art. I made a selection of announcement cards from vintage found greeting cards e.g. One month old, Did I tell you my name yet?, I need cuddles. I decided to do a silly funny digital with Mason as the star – one a month for his first twelve months. See the superhero as number one.
Small details from small collage art.
Here are a couple of details from two different collage works I am making for the Beth Hulme Exhibition yet to come. I have made 10 small collage works of scenes with children in all types of different environments. The two above are children and dogs and children and birds. The works are fun and joyous and still some of my absurd humour thrown in as usual. Hope you like them. There is a little paint and ink, some paper cutout from various sources of books (checked so don’t worry they are not rare but they were special in my eyes) and then an assemblage on birch board.
Little people in collage and a pug.
This is cute little 6 month old pug Juno I met at the park yesterday and fell in love with her.
I am doing a series of children taking on or morphing into their surroundings – space, birds, inspects animals etc. I have only shown a small detail of this work as it is for an upcoming exhibition.
Collage with fish and humans.
The fish and the human bend and flex so easily as one.
Wonderful playful images in collage.
I conducted a small workshop in Mixed media/collage for three people this morning and just look at these creative whimsical images. Each of the artists made two fully finished pieces on prepared surfaces of acrylic paint and ink. Congratulations Alison D, Helen B and Jenny M for having an open mind and letting your intuitive side take over. Sometimes it is so much better to keep things simple and pull back on all the cut elements. If somethings works and reads well with just two cut images then just let it be. I think there is an interesting story in each of the images made. Hope you enjoyed yourselves.
Next group classes will be Feb 4th for mixed media collage (only 4 people for this class) and Feb 2nd for Still-life painting (only 3 people for this class). Please contact me if interested in consolidating your skills or learning new ones in a friendly relaxed environment. Private classes also available to suit.
Here are a few works from Art Workshops recently.
It has been such a busy and fun few weeks with workshops. I love sharing what I do and then watching the artists/students take it to their own style to make some of the above. I was teaching still life painting workshops and collage/mixed media workshops. These are just a few of the works that I photographed. I took some very poor quality photos and decided not to post them (sorry everyone).
